Become A Showing Up Certified Trainer

The deepest level of understanding and application of the skills of care.

With our in-depth training, individuals can become a leader of care and connection by bringing programming to organizations, communities, and workplaces.

The eight-week training walks participants through their personal care behaviors, their strengths and weaknesses, and a thorough skills application process. All certifications go through a step-by-step customized training to optimize the strengths of each facilitator.

What you’ll get

  • 20+ hours of virtual training with Founder Jen Marr - 8+ at-your-own-pace homework & 12 in group sessions

  • Collaborative group training and program modeling sessions, as well as an accountability partner

What to expect

We structure this course very intentionally with the learning objectives in mind and with an emphasis on learning the content and skills of supportive care. Here’s what you can expect to learn in each section of the course:

Weeks 1-3

  • Have a deep grasp of key teachings and concepts.

  • Be equipped with the tools, tips, strategies, and skills to show up for others and cultivate human care and connection in a range of diverse environments.

  • Identify, verbalize, and share your own story and personal connection to supportive care and this work in an impactful manner.

  • Identify and apply individual strategies to incorporate the skill of supportive care into your daily life as a continuous and active practice.

Weeks 4-8

  • Administer and analyze results from Supportive Culture Surveys and Awkward Zone™ Assessments and produce thoughtful insights on the data.

  • Lead and facilitate signature workshops such as Discovery, Awkward Zone™, Team Connections, & Showing Up Workshops, Comfort Response activities, Book Studies, and some Bespoke Programming.

  • Give a full-length Showing Up presentation to a sector/audience that best aligns with your interests.

  • Explain the critical need for supportive care in today’s world of disconnection, burnout, and exhaustion, backed up by research.

Weeks 9 and Beyond

  • Devise strategic goals and planning to take this work out to target audiences in the field with your Sales Mentor.

  • Become an active part of the Certified Trainer community and connect with others doing this work through our continuous learning and meet-up opportunities, including our annual Summer Summit.

  • Engage in continued learning opportunities and active consultative support through our quarterly Town Halls, monthly Office Hours, annual Summer Summit, complimentary mentorship calls, and more.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • There are five virtual group sessions as a part of the Certified Trainer program: a 1-hour orientation, three 3-hour calls, and a 2-hour final group call. Calls are spaced intentionally 2 weeks apart each to give each trainee ample time to complete homework and process the material. Participants are also encouraged to meet and chat weekly with their accountability partners. Following the final group call, each participant will have a 1-hour call with Founder & CEO Jen Marr to discuss how they want to take this training out, as well as calls with members of the Showing Up team: one to walk through the Training Vault, and two sales/networking mentorship calls.

  • Our Certified Trainer cohorts are made up of vetted, like-minded individuals across sectors. Each cohort is capped at 6 participants (with some exceptions).

  • Showing Up Founder & CEO Jen Marr facilitates the Certified Trainer program. Occasionally, other Certified Trainers and members of the team will facilitate portions to bring their insight and expertise into the sessions.

  • As a Certified Trainer, you can administer Supportive Culture Pre-Surveys and Awkward Zone Assessments, give keynotes, talks, and presentations, and facilitate our signature workshops and offerings such as the Discovery Workshop, the Showing Up Workshop, the Awkward Zone Workshop, the Team Connections Workshop, book studies, and more. Facilitation training for our youth Project Comfort program and Supportive Leader Workshop are available as separate add-on modules post-certification.
